Accounts and access
Permissions and roles
Assign the least access a responder needs and review accepted permissions when responsibilities change.
Access levels
| Role | Can do | Cannot do |
|---|---|---|
| User | View the live Board and send operational messages. | Move apparatus, operate incidents, manage deployments, or change settings. |
| Admin | Operate incidents, apparatus, messages, and the saved deployment. | Change Board ownership, invitations, permissions, Map publishing, or Board settings. |
| Owner | Full Board control, including settings, Maps, invitations, permissions, and deletion. | Ownership is not assigned through an ordinary invitation. |
Send an invitation
- Open Permissions from the dashboard.
- Select Send invitations.
- Choose the Board, recipient, and User or Admin role.
- Add only the context the recipient needs.
- Review pending invitations and rescind any that are no longer appropriate.
Shared Boards and limits
A Board shared with you appears on the Boards dashboard but does not use your one owned-Board slot. Your available controls follow the role granted by that Board's owner.
Review access safely
- Verify unexpected invitations before accepting them.
- Remove access when a person no longer needs it.
- Use User access when view and messaging are sufficient.
- Reserve Admin access for people expected to operate the incident Board.
