Build a Map
Build a response Map with Map Builder
The guided workflow keeps common tasks visible and places precision controls under More options.
Before you begin
Map editing is intended for larger screens. No district, station, or label is required, so a blank, image-only, label-only, or minimal Map is valid. The account can keep up to three Maps, including Maps in Trash.
Step 1
Map Setup
Start with the standard blank Map or upload PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG. Keep an image in the finished Map or use it temporarily for tracing.
Step 2
Districts
Choose Draw first district or Add another district, place at least three boundary points, and explicitly finish the district. Unfinished boundaries remain only in the current session.
Step 3
Stations
Add a station with the default green circle, then edit its optional short code, shape, size, color, rotation, position, duplication, or layer order.
Step 4
Labels
Enter label text first, place it, and then adjust readable size, weight, alignment, color, background, border, rotation, position, or layer order.
Step 5
Finish
Review the Map, check warnings, download an SVG when needed, and explicitly use the saved Map revision on the Board.
Saving and recovery
Completed changes autosave. Unfinished district boundaries do not. If another tab changes the same Map, reload, duplicate the Map, or export the current SVG instead of attempting an automatic merge.
Applying an update
Editing a source Map does not change the live Board. Finish shows whether an update is available and asks for confirmation before replacing the Board Map. Apparatus, deployments, incidents, and permissions remain unchanged.
