Troubleshooting
Connection and error recovery
Use the status shown by the application to decide whether to continue, retry, reload, or preserve the current state.
Board connection states
- Connected
- The Board can receive and confirm changes.
- Reconnecting
- Wait for the current state to reload before making more changes.
- Offline
- The displayed Board may not be current. Use Retry when available and do not assume a change was saved.
When a save fails
- Read the reason shown and keep the current page open.
- Confirm the current Board or Map state before repeating the action.
- Use Retry Now or Try again when offered.
- If another tab or device changed the same item, reload the latest state instead of forcing the older change.
- Copy the support reference if the problem continues.
Map recovery
Map Builder keeps tab-scoped recovery information for completed document changes. An unfinished district boundary is session-only and cannot be recovered after leaving the session. Stale saves require reload, duplicate, or SVG export rather than automatic merging.
Diagnostic references
A displayed reference distinguishes one failed request without exposing internal error details. Record it with the page address and approximate time before reloading the page.
When a connection does not recover
Record the last confirmed Board state, the approximate time, and any displayed diagnostic reference. Avoid repeatedly submitting the same change, then reload the page to request the latest confirmed state.
